Former US Police Officer Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing 18 Detainees
A former North County Police Cooperative officer, Marcellis Blackwell, has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing 18 men he detained or arrested while on duty in St. Louis, United States. Court records state that the assaults occurred between November 2022 and June 2023, often after traffic stops or arrests. Sixteen victims were handcuffed, while 15 were allegedly taken to isolated locations after Blackwell turned off his body-worn camera. Blackwell also admitted to filing false reports claiming his camera had remained active throughout the encounters. The FBI took over the investigation after one victim reported the incident in June 2023 and others came forward. He is due to be sentenced on November 24, with prosecutors seeking a 30-year prison term.
