LGBTQ activist Bisi Alimi has called for a BBNaija housemate to be investigated after a viral clip appeared to show him describing how he used a dating app to lure and rob gay men during the COVID-19 period. The practice, often called “kito,” involves people posing as gay on dating apps to arrange meetings, then robbing, blackmailing or assaulting victims. In the clip, the housemate reportedly said financial hardship made him consider the scheme, while insisting that no one was killed. Alimi criticised the show for airing the remarks without an immediate response. He also accused law-enforcement authorities of failing to take attacks against gay victims seriously and urged the public to report the video for investigation.
