ALGON Donates ₦36m to Revive Cross River’s Nigerian Chronicle
The Cross River chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria has donated ₦36 million to support the revival of the Cross River Newspaper Corporation, publishers of the Nigerian Chronicle. ALGON chairman Yibala Inyang announced the donation during a visit to the remodelled corporation in Calabar. He praised the state government’s efforts to restore the newspaper and urged its staff to uphold professionalism, objectivity and ethical reporting. Inyang called on the state’s 18 local government councils and other stakeholders to support the newspaper through patronage. He also commended the launch of the National Community Food Bank Project in Cross River, describing it as timely support for vulnerable households facing economic hardship.
