Nigerian Lecturer Ayodele Odularu Found Dead in South Africa, Family Seeks Investigation
Dr Ayodele Odularu, a Nigerian lecturer and independent senior researcher at the University of Fort Hare, was found dead at her residence in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province. She reportedly died on August 16 at the age of 51. Her family says the circumstances of her death remain unclear and believes it was not natural. They have called for a proper investigation to establish what happened. The University of Fort Hare held a memorial service in her honour. Her death has also renewed concerns about the safety of Nigerians living in South Africa, though no official link to xenophobic attacks has been confirmed.
