ADC Rift Deepens: Lukman Quits Coalition, Blames El-Rufai and Amaechi

The crisis in the ADC-led opposition coalition escalated as Salihu Mohammed Lukman announced he is suspending all party and coalition activities. Lukman directly accused Nasir El-Rufai and his Kaduna allies of subjecting him to “painful hostile treatment” and reducing him to the status of a “bastard.” He also criticised Rotimi Amaechi for engaging Kaduna figures he described as having “questionable commitment,” warning that the ADC risks being marginalised in the 2027 elections. Lukman appealed to national leaders to respect his decision as he takes time to reflect on his next steps.
