Kidnapped Man Escapes Bandits' Hideout, Reunited with Family in Plateau
A man abducted in April from Bauchi State managed to flee his captors and was intercepted by troops in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State. On June 3, 2026, soldiers of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace, and personnel from the Civilian Security Initiative Battalion XIV carried out a clearance operation in Yuli Village. During the mission, they found and rescued Mallam Musa Muhammad, a native of Pikat in Kanam LGA. Initial investigations show Muhammad escaped from a bandits’ enclave before troops discovered him. He was debriefed to gather intelligence on the criminal group’s operations. This rescue forms part of sustained security efforts in Plateau and neighbouring states. Military authorities continue to intensify clearance operations and intelligence-driven missions to dismantle bandit hideouts and protect vulnerable communities.
