Rufai Oseni Accuses APC of Double Standards Over Onaiyekan’s Criticism

Journalist Rufai Oseni has accused the Tinubu administration and the APC of hypocrisy over their response to Cardinal John Onaiyekan’s recent comments on Nigeria’s economic and social conditions. Speaking on a television programme, Oseni recalled that Onaiyekan also criticised former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration during a 2014 visit to the Presidential Villa. He said APC figures praised the cleric at the time as a courageous voice speaking truth to power. Oseni questioned why the same criticism is now being challenged when it is directed at the current government. He argued that public officials should acknowledge the hardship Nigerians face rather than dismiss critics of the administration.
