Ladipo Market Leaders Intervene to Protect APC’s Joe Igbokwe From Angry Crowd

Ladipo Market Leaders Intervene to Protect APC’s Joe Igbokwe From Angry Crowd

APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has described how he narrowly escaped being attacked by a group of youths at Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market in Lagos State. He says the incident began when traders recognized him while he was buying vehicle parts. The crowd soon swelled and began chanting his name, prompting him to seek refuge in a friend’s shop. Market leaders and senior traders then stepped in and escorted him out safely. He denied reports that he was beaten and warned that public figures should be free to move without fear of intimidation. There has been no official comment from the Lagos State Police Command on the episode.
