ADC Says It Will Independently Monitor and Collate Votes in 2027

The African Democratic Congress says it no longer trusts the Independent National Electoral Commission to protect its votes in the 2027 general elections. The party’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the ADC is preparing to independently monitor polling units and collate its results. He linked the decision to the failure to transmit many 2023 election results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal as expected. Abdullahi said the party would accept results that reflect votes cast at polling units but would challenge any outcome it believes does not represent Nigerians’ votes. Electoral transparency and result management are expected to remain major issues ahead of 2027.
