PFIPC Scandal: Adeyemi Denies Meeting Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Promises to Surrender

Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi, self-declared DG of the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, denied meeting Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila in a video interview with activist Martins Vincent. He said he spoke to Gbajabiamila only via phone calls through a late associate and could not confirm the Chief of Staff’s role in the alleged N27.4bn PFIPC scandal. Adeyemi urged President Tinubu to set up an investigative panel and pledged to turn himself in with supporting documents. Gbajabiamila’s lawyers have threatened a N10bn defamation suit, and the president has directed the ICPC to probe the case within 30 days. Adeyemi’s criminal trial in Abuja resumes on July 14, 2026.
