Babachir Lawal Alleges Aisha Binani Is Backing Atiku Over Peter Obi for 2027

Babachir Lawal has alleged that Aisha Binani, the NDC governorship candidate in Adamawa State, is supporting Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential ambition instead of Peter Obi’s. Lawal made the allegation while responding to reports that six NDC governorship candidates in the North-East rejected his appointment as the party’s leader for the North-East and North-Central. He claimed the opposition to his appointment was organised by Binani. He added that the party’s governorship candidates in Gombe and Taraba had contacted him to distance themselves from the reported rejection.
