Nigeria Meets OPEC Crude Oil Quota Again as August Output Rises to 1.68m Barrels Daily

Nigeria’s combined crude oil and condensate production rose by 0.4% in August 2026 to an average of 1,677,777 barrels per day, according to figures released by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. Crude oil output, excluding condensate, stood at 1,500,190 barrels per day. This means Nigeria met its OPEC crude oil production quota for the fourth consecutive month. Daily combined output ranged from 1.64 million to 1.71 million barrels during the month. Production improved after the resolution of a Single Buoy Mooring issue that affected the Erha field in July. Bonny Terminal recorded the highest average output at about 320,000 barrels per day. Despite the monthly increase, August production remained below June’s combined output of about 1.74 million barrels per day.
