Tinubu Applauds Adeniyi’s Unanimous Re-Election as WCO Council Chair

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi on his re-election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization Council. The unanimous vote took place during the 147th and 148th WCO Council sessions in Brussels. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the President described this outcome as a major achievement for both Adeniyi and Nigeria’s standing in global customs administration. Tinubu highlighted how Adeniyi’s leadership has driven key reforms—modernizing operations, boosting revenue, enhancing border security, and introducing innovations like the B’Odogwu clearance platform and the Authorised Economic Operator Programme. He said these advances align the Nigeria Customs Service with global best practices and support the federal economic agenda.
