Gunmen Open Fire at Football Match in Mexico, Killing One and Wounding Six
One person has died and six others were wounded after gunmen opened fire during a football match in San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato State, Mexico. Witnesses said the attackers arrived on a motorcycle, approached the touchline and fired into the crowd. Players and spectators fled as the match was abandoned. The shooting occurred at about 2:40pm on Sunday, September 13. Authorities said the attackers may have targeted two people, while others were injured as they tried to escape. Prosecutors have opened a homicide investigation and are searching for the gunmen.
