Reps Committee Urges JAMB to Extend 2026/2027 Admission Deadlines
The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education has asked the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to extend the admission deadlines for the 2026/2027 academic session. Committee Chairman Oboku Oforji said the current timeline could prevent qualified candidates from securing admission. He urged JAMB to give institutions and applicants more time to complete the process. JAMB had directed public universities to conclude admissions by October 31, private universities by November 30, and other tertiary institutions by December 31, 2026. The board said its Central Admissions Processing System is fully operational and advised candidates to promptly accept admission offers.
