FRSC Launches Probe After Diesel Tanker Fire at Otedola Bridge
The Federal Road Safety Corps has ordered an investigation into the diesel tanker crash and fire beneath Otedola Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The tanker reportedly plunged into the underpass at about 4:10 p.m. on Monday. Preliminary findings linked the crash to excessive speed. Two occupants were injured and taken to a Lagos emergency centre, while no deaths were recorded in the initial report. FRSC personnel, firefighters, LASTMA, police and other responders worked to contain the fire and manage traffic. The corps warned tanker operators against speeding, poor maintenance and unsafe delivery schedules, and urged motorists to stay clear of emergency scenes.
