Police Rescue Mother and Two-Year-Old Son from Forest in Kwara State
Acting on credible intelligence, the Force Intelligence Department and local security groups raided a forest hideout at Bode Sadu, Kwara State on Saturday, 4 July 2026. Kidnappers who opened fire fled deeper into the bush under a swift tactical response. Officers combed the area and freed 43-year-old Adijat Kuburat and her two-year-old son, Abdul Malik Hamzat. Both were taken to a medical facility and are receiving treatment. The Inspector-General of Police praised the operatives’ professionalism and reiterated the Force’s commitment to intelligence-led operations against kidnapping and violent crime until all culprits are brought to justice.
