Police Recover Pump-Action Gun and 11 Cartridges in Nnewi
Anambra Police have arrested Okechukwu Igwegbe after a pump-action gun and 11 live cartridges were allegedly recovered from him in Uruagu, Nnewi North Local Government Area. Police said the arrest followed credible intelligence and was carried out by the Command’s Tactical Team. The recovered firearm and ammunition have been taken in as exhibits. The suspect reportedly declined to make a statement about the weapon. Police said investigators will rely on lawful procedures, including intelligence review and possible forensic and ballistic checks, to trace its source and determine whether it may be linked to any crime. The Commissioner of Police has directed investigators to establish whether other people or networks were involved in supplying or moving the firearm and ammunition.
