Osogbo Residents Urge Adeleke to Fix Pothole-Riddled Roads
Residents of Osogbo say deteriorating roads across the city are making travel dangerous, damaging vehicles and disrupting businesses. They cite deep potholes, failed road surfaces, poor drainage and erosion on routes including Olaiya–Ogo-Oluwa, Dele-Yes-Sir–Oke-Fia and roads around Oja-Oba and Ilesa Garage. A civil society group has urged the Osun State Government to prioritise road rehabilitation, calling for durable repairs rather than temporary filling of potholes. Residents have also appealed for improvements to roads leading to the state’s teaching hospital, saying patients and other visitors have faced difficult access for months. Residents have raised concerns about refuse dumping and poor waste collection in the metropolis as well. They are asking the state government to improve sanitation services and take urgent action on the city’s infrastructure.
