Ibadan Court Convicts Man for Trafficking 1.043kg of Cocaine
A Federal High Court in Ibadan has convicted 33-year-old Eze Emeka after he pleaded guilty to dealing in and trafficking 1.043kg of cocaine. The NDLEA said Emeka was arrested on April 20 along the Ibadan-Oyo Expressway while travelling towards Sokoto. Prosecutors told the court that the cocaine was recovered after he excreted it. Justice Uche Agomoh held that the prosecution proved the two-count charge beyond reasonable doubt. The defence asked for leniency, saying he was a first-time offender with a wife and two children. The court adjourned sentencing until September 23.
