Tinubu Flags Off Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode Road Reconstruction, Approves Abeokuta–Ibadan Dualisation

President Bola Tinubu has flagged off the reconstruction and dualisation of the 58-kilometre Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode Road linking Oyo and Ogun states. The Federal Government also approved the reconstruction and dualisation of the Abeokuta–Ibadan Road. Represented by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun at the ceremony in Ibadan, the President said the projects would strengthen a major economic corridor connecting Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode and the Lekki axis. He said improved roads would reduce travel time, support trade and improve the movement of farm produce, raw materials and finished goods. The Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode project will use reinforced concrete pavement and is expected to improve safety along the corridor. Works Minister Dave Umahi said procurement was underway for the 70-kilometre Abeokuta–Ibadan Road project, while community leaders urged contractors to complete the work on schedule.
