Former Niger Education Commissioner Loses Wife and Three Children in Mokwa-Bida Road Crash

The wife and three children of former Niger State Commissioner for Education, Abubakar Daja, have died in a road crash on the Mokwa-Bida Road. The family was reportedly travelling from Minna in a Mazda vehicle on Sunday, August 23, 2026, when it collided with a Sienna. One of Hajia Daja's four children survived. The teenage survivor was hospitalised with serious injuries, including a broken rib and fractured shoulder. The deceased were buried in Kutigi, Lavun Local Government Area, in accordance with Islamic rites.
