APC Says Over 10 Million ₦75,000 Cash-Transfer Beneficiaries Lack Phones and Social Media Access

APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda says more than 10 million Nigerians who received ₦75,000 under the Federal Government’s conditional cash-transfer programme do not own phones, televisions or use social media. Speaking after the party’s NEC retreat in Maiduguri, he said many poor and vulnerable beneficiaries cannot join public debates about government policies because they lack access to communication devices and online platforms. Yilwatda also defended the removal of fuel subsidy, saying it has enabled states to pay salaries and pensions while freeing funds for infrastructure, student loans and other government projects. He criticised Atiku Abubakar’s position on restoring subsidy and said the APC is preparing for the 2027 elections.
