From $100 Debt to African Excellence: Jeremiah Musa’s Remarkable Journey
Jeremiah Musa was named Most Influential African Business and Communications Leader at the 2026 MEA Markets African Excellence Awards. His $100 debt almost kept him from university finals until a lecturer intervened. Growing up among nine children in Agbado-Crossing, he hawked sachet water to support his family. When classmates blocked his exam entry over that unpaid loan, Mr. Boye Ola let him sit on a promise to pay after graduation. He built a media career at Raypower FM, AIT and ITV before spotting a gap in the digital asset space. He launched The Bit Gazette on a “Remote-First, Naija-Best” model to tell Africa’s story and give emerging journalists international bylines. Accepting his award, he dedicated it to children learning under leaking roofs or selling on pavements. His message: “Refusal to accept that where you start is where you finish.” For Musa, it is more than inspiration—it is proof.
