Ogun State Police Command says it has uncovered an alleged baby trafficking and illegal adoption ring in Mowe, rescuing two pregnant women and four children. Six suspects, including an attending nurse, were arrested during an intelligence-led raid on Monday, August 24. Police said detectives later found another alleged victim receiving treatment at a hospital after she reportedly gave birth on August 20. Her newborn baby could not be accounted for, and officers are working to locate the child. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta. Police say they will investigate the suspected syndicate, trace the missing newborn and prosecute anyone found responsible.
