IHRAM Reveals 58-Poet Longlist for African Human Rights Poetry Competition
The International Human Rights Art Movement (IHRAM) has announced a longlist of 58 poets for its African Human Rights Poetry Competition. Over 350 entries poured in from 25 countries, showcasing powerful voices on issues like political oppression, gender inequality, and freedom of speech. Coordinator Wole Adedoyin lauded the diversity of the submissions. He noted how poets use vivid imagery and personal stories to champion justice and human dignity across Africa and beyond. Next, a panel of distinguished judges will select the final winners. An anthology of the longlisted works is also planned, ensuring these poems inspire wider conversations on human rights through art.
