Mitchelle Daka has been crowned the inaugural Miss Universe Uganda 2026 at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala. The 29-year-old model, entrepreneur and mental-health advocate represented Budaka District and excelled in the swimwear, evening-wear and final-question segments. Daka received Shs24 million, a new vehicle and subsidiary titles including Face of Miss Universe Uganda and Multimedia Queen. She holds a Business Administration degree, has modelled across Africa and the Middle East, and runs a sustainable activewear brand. Kimberly Jael Aremo Acio of Kole District finished as first runner-up and won the People’s Choice and Wellness Queen awards. Daka will represent Uganda at the 75th Miss Universe pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico, this November, where she plans to promote Ugandan creativity and mental-health awareness.
