Tinubu Extends Tenures of Correctional and Immigration Service Chiefs to 2028
President Bola Tinubu has approved 18-month tenure extensions for the heads of the Nigerian Correctional Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service. The Controller-General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, will remain in office until May 26, 2028. The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, will serve until June 30, 2028. The presidency said the decision followed a recommendation from the Minister of Interior to prevent a succession gap and allow time for the appointment of successors. Both officials were asked to build on reforms in their respective services.
