FEC Approves Unified System for Humanitarian Aid and Poverty Reduction
The Federal Executive Council has approved the One Humanitarian One Poverty Response System, a national framework designed to link humanitarian assistance, social protection and poverty-reduction programmes. The framework aims to reduce duplication and gaps in support for vulnerable households. Families affected by conflict or emergencies could receive food, shelter and healthcare while also being connected to education, skills training, social protection and livelihood support. The system was developed with input from development partners and stakeholders. The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction says it will now work with federal and state institutions to put the framework into practice.
