Lagos Police Detain Chinese National Over Alleged Sexual Assault of Employee

Lagos police have detained a Chinese national over allegations of sexual assault, repeated unwanted advances and threats against a male Nigerian employee. The employee alleged that his boss repeatedly made advances that he rejected. He also alleged that the suspect pulled down his trousers and touched his private parts without consent. The complainant further alleged that the suspect invited him to a hotel under the pretext of a business transaction and attempted to force him into sexual acts. He said he was later threatened and dismissed after refusing the advances. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba. Police say the Chinese Embassy is being notified while investigators determine the appropriate legal action.
