Tinubu Says Buratai-Era Lessons Can Strengthen Nigeria’s Security Response
President Bola Tinubu says lessons from Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai’s tenure as Chief of Army Staff remain relevant as Nigeria confronts terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft and other organised crimes. Speaking at the Abuja presentation of a book on the Buratai era, Tinubu said effective military leadership must build institutions that can adapt to emerging threats and prepare future commanders. He said the Federal Government is working to improve intelligence gathering, inter-agency coordination, surveillance, logistics and military capacity. Tinubu also said sustainable security requires effective policing, justice, border management, community engagement and economic opportunities alongside military action.
