Navy, Army Neutralise 34 Terrorists in Lake Chad Operations
Nigerian Navy Marines and troops from the Army’s 403 Amphibious Brigade have neutralised 34 terrorists in separate operations around Lake Chad in Borno State. The operations were carried out between October 28 and Friday under Operation HADIN KAI. A review of the October 28 operation increased the reported number of terrorists killed from eight to 28. In a separate intelligence-led strike on a Boko Haram enclave in Dumba on Friday, troops reportedly neutralised about six terrorists and injured several others. Military authorities said the figures from the Dumba operation remain subject to further assessment. The military says the operations are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Boko Haram and other insurgent groups in the North-East.
