Katsina Police Thwart Kidnapping, Save Two Women and Prevent Cattle Rustling
The Katsina Police Command foiled separate kidnapping and cattle rustling attempts in two LGAs. In Kankia on Saturday morning, armed bandits on motorcycles abducted two women from Sabon Gida Village. Police units, led by the Divisional Police Officer, tracked the kidnappers and engaged them in a gun duel. The assailants fled, leaving the victims, aged 20 and 22, unharmed. On Monday in Charanchi LGA, similar tactics halted an attack in Majen Waya Village. An APC patrol confronted suspected cattle rustlers and drove them off with superior firepower. No livestock were taken and no lives were lost. The state Commissioner of Police commended the swift action of officers. He encouraged residents to continue providing timely information to help secure their communities.
