IGP Disu’s Convoy Allegedly Damages Barricades at Port Harcourt Airport
The convoy of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu allegedly rammed and damaged toll-gate barricades at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, during his official visit to Rivers State on October 13, 2026. The airport toll-gate concessionaire said the convoy reportedly bypassed the designated VIP exit and struck the iron barriers, placing its staff at risk and disrupting revenue collection. Disu was in Rivers State for a book launch, a courtesy visit to Governor Siminalayi Fubara and a meeting with police officers on preparations for the 2027 general elections. Police authorities in Rivers State had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
