Gawuna’s Political Allies in Kano Consider Return to APC Ahead of 2027
Some members of Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna’s political structure in Kano are consulting over a possible return from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections. The group, led by Gawuna associate Muhammad Umar, visited Governor Abba Yusuf and Deputy Governor Murtala Garo. They said their engagement was driven by support for initiatives that could advance Kano State’s development. NDC Kano vice chairman Ali Yako praised the state government’s performance, while the delegation’s meetings have fuelled speculation about a formal defection. No official announcement has been made by Gawuna’s supporters.
