Open Letter Urges Tinubu to Ease Hardship and Protect the Next Election
I write as an old associate who is deeply concerned about the hardship many Nigerians face. Food, transport, rent, medicine and school fees have become difficult for too many households to afford, while insecurity continues to keep people away from farms, roads and businesses. I urge President Bola Tinubu to review policies through the experience of ordinary families and deliver prompt, measurable relief. Government must ensure that support reaches those who need it and that economic progress is felt in homes, not only reflected in official figures. I also call for wider consultation with Nigerians who can speak honestly about what is working and what is failing. As the next election approaches, the President must protect the independence of INEC, the judiciary and security agencies so that Nigerians can choose their leaders freely and without intimidation. The President should let his decisions, respect for democratic institutions and response to public suffering define his legacy. Nigerians have the right to judge his stewardship and determine their future through a free, fair and credible election.
