Tinubu Mourns Former Gongola Governor and PDP Chairman Bamanga Tukur
President Bola Tinubu has mourned the death of elder statesman, businessman and former Governor of old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, who died at the age of 90. Tinubu described Tukur as a towering figure in Nigeria’s political and economic history. He praised his service as former General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Governor of Gongola State, Minister of Industries and National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. The President also noted Tukur’s advocacy for intra-African trade and private sector growth through the African Business Roundtable and the NEPAD Business Group. He extended condolences to the Tukur family, the Fombina Emirate, Adamawa State and Nigeria’s political and business communities.
