Heroic Rescue as FCT Police Foil Kubwa Kidnapping, Seize AK-47
Operatives of the FCT Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit foiled an abduction attempt in the Byazhin area of Kubwa on Thursday, June 4. Acting on credible intelligence, they descended on a residence near Paze Hills where suspects were preparing to abduct Mr. Samson and his wife. A fierce exchange of gunfire erupted when the kidnappers opened fire on arriving officers. The battle lasted over thirty minutes and forced the assailants to flee into nearby bushes. Police recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and seven rounds of live ammunition at the scene. The intended victims were rescued unharmed and taken to General Hospital, Gwarinpa for trauma care before being placed under protective custody. No officers were injured in the operation. The Commissioner of Police commended the swift response of his team and ordered increased patrols across the area.
