Peter Obi has responded to comments by Reno Omokri about alleged FBI records linked to Nigerian presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 election. During a virtual discussion with media personalities Adeola Fayehun and Rudolf Okonkwo, Obi was asked whether he has an FBI file and whether such records should be made public. Obi said anyone seeking public office must be open to public scrutiny. He added that the existence of an FBI record does not automatically mean a person has a criminal record.
