Lagos Police Assure Residents of Security Ahead of 2027 Elections

Lagos Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani says the command is prepared to protect residents before, during and after the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Festac, Tijani said election periods involve increased movement of people and require strong security measures. He urged residents to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding. The police chief called on residents, parents and community leaders to share useful information with security agencies and help discourage cultism, hooliganism and other criminal activity among young people. He also appealed to political stakeholders to work with the police to prevent violence and ensure a peaceful electoral process in Lagos.
