Why Abia Chose Electric Buses Over CNG for Public Transport — Otti
Abia Governor Alex Otti says the state selected electric buses for its public transport system because EVs offer a more advanced transport technology than vehicles powered by petrol, diesel or CNG. He said the government is not opposed to CNG and has reached agreements with companies interested in building more CNG stations across the state. The stations are expected to serve private vehicle owners and other consumers. Otti also addressed street trading at Isi-Gate in Umuahia. He said the government would gradually relocate affected traders as part of its urban renewal plan, while providing compensation and considering alternative trading locations.
