Two off-duty Metropolitan Police officers have been arrested and suspended following allegations of assault and sexual assault during a June 2026 group holiday in Budapest, Hungary. A female officer alleged that she was pulled into a room by one colleague during a party attended by about 15 police personnel, then later grabbed by another officer. The gathering reportedly took place at a rented holiday property. One officer was arrested on August 31 on suspicion of assault, while the second was arrested on September 3 on suspicion of sexual assault. Both have been released on bail as the investigation continues. The Metropolitan Police said it is treating the allegations seriously and has launched a complex professional-standards investigation.
