Datti Baba-Ahmed: Only God Can Stop Tinubu’s Re-election in 2027

Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed says President Bola Tinubu’s political structure and alliance-building ability make him a formidable contender for the 2027 election. Speaking in a recent interview, Baba-Ahmed said Tinubu spent years building the political organisation that helped the APC defeat the PDP in 2015 and later win the presidency in 2023. Although he said he disagrees with several of Tinubu’s policies, he described the president’s political rise as an extraordinary achievement. Baba-Ahmed also criticised the opposition as disorganised, claiming Tinubu’s influence extends beyond the APC. He said that if Tinubu decides he must be declared winner in 2027, “only God Almighty can stop it.”
