Nicki Minaj’s Husband Files Alleged 1994 Recantation Letter in Civil Case
Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, has submitted an alleged 1994 letter as part of his defence against Jennifer Hough’s civil lawsuit. The document purportedly asks prosecutors to drop the attempted rape charge against him and suggests Hough’s original account was partly false. Hough’s lawyer disputes the document’s authenticity, saying her client neither wrote nor signed it. The lawyer also argues that it is suspicious for a 16-year-old to have produced a typed recantation without parental consent. Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995 over the incident. Hough sued him in 2021, alleging that he pressured her to publicly withdraw her accusation for years. Petty denies the claims and is seeking dismissal of the suit. The court has not yet ruled on the current dispute.
