APC Must Show Nigerians What Its Record Has Delivered
Political endorsements and governors’ alliances cannot replace public confidence. As politicians prepare for 2027, many Nigerians are focused on rising food prices, transport costs, unreliable electricity and the struggle to keep homes and businesses afloat. Reports of attacks on people travelling to an APC campaign flag-off in Katsina should be investigated, and violence must be condemned. But political leaders should also remember that governors do not own the votes of the people. Citizens will judge parties by their own daily experiences. The proposed external borrowing of about $20.52 billion and €1.045 billion raises further questions about accountability. Before taking on more debt, the Federal Government should clearly show what past loans funded, which projects have been completed and how new borrowing will produce measurable benefits. If the APC seeks another mandate, it should rely on verifiable results, not political machinery alone. Nigerians deserve clear answers on jobs, security, public services, household costs and the impact of economic reforms.
