Oyinlola Says Tinubu Endorsement Has 'Expired,' Urges Him and Atiku to Retire
Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola says he has withdrawn his backing for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. In a television interview, he said the political arrangement behind his earlier endorsement had “expired.” Oyinlola said the endorsement was a tactical move intended to help resolve the dispute over control of Osun local government offices and council funds. He said it failed to achieve its aim. He also urged Tinubu and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to leave active politics and make way for younger leaders. Oyinlola said he supports Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who is seeking the presidency on the APM platform.
