Nine Nigerian Senators Cross Carpets to Join ADC
1 / 2
Nine senators from three major parties have officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye and Ireti Kingibe left the Labour Party to join ADC. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Binos Yaroe, Lawal Adamu Usman, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo and Augustine Akobundu resigned from the PDP for ADC membership. Enyinnaya Abaribe, formerly the sole APGA senator, also moved to ADC. The Senate has given Senator Abaribe one week to reverse his decision. His claim that he was sacked by APGA is not recognized under the constitution, prompting the deadline for reconsideration.
