23-Year-Old Arraigned in Ondo Over Alleged Murder of His Mother
A 23-year-old man, Akuade Samuel, has been arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Ondo State over the alleged killing of his mother, Akuade Olufunke. The prosecution alleged that Samuel used a cutlass to cut his mother’s neck at the Power Line area of Ore around noon on 6 August 2026. He was charged with murder under Section 319 of the Criminal Code of Ondo State. The prosecutor asked the court to remand him while the case file is sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. Defence counsel sought time to respond to the remand application, and the case was adjourned until 31 August 2026.
