UN Mission Says US Strikes in Iran May Amount to War Crimes

A United Nations fact-finding mission says US air strikes in Iran may have violated international law and could amount to war crimes. The mission said at least 178 civilians, including women and children, were killed. The report cited a strike on a primary school in Minab, saying its civilian purpose was clearly visible through school signs, child-focused murals and playground facilities. It also raised concerns about a strike near a sports centre in Lamerd, which it said was visibly separate from an IRGC compound. The US has denied intentionally targeting civilians. The findings will be submitted to the UN Human Rights Council and also accuse Iranian authorities of human rights violations during recent protests.
