My Advice to Tinubu on Hunger, the Naira and Government Appointments
I am concerned by claims that people are being paid to attend campaign events while many Nigerians face hunger and severe economic hardship. A listening government should not need to rely on rented crowds to win public support. In my view, the removal of petrol subsidy has not yet produced visible relief for ordinary people. The floating of the naira has also worsened hardship, as the exchange rate continues to drive up prices. The government should take stronger steps to defend the naira, reduce the cost of living and make public appointments transparent. Nigerians should not have to pay large sums to secure government positions.
